Dupuytren’s contracture is a deformity that affects the hands and fingers. It is usually a slow-developing condition that causes one or more fingers to bend toward the palm of the hand. Once this occurs, the fingers affected by the condition can’t be straightened completely, making it difficult for the person to perform normal activities such as shaking hands, putting on gloves, or putting his hands in his pockets.
